This is the view from the summit. The road leading up to the peak can be seen snaking through the hill and in the background one of the two temples in Devarayanadurga can also be seen. The view from here is good. We saw a couple of Bulls and a ZMA and tracked its upward journey!

This is another view of the narrow winding, (scary for people not used to riding ghat sections or hills) but with a different background - the ample hill hocks around Tumkur. Each one beckons a trekker – a simple inexpensive feat for the outdoor rough it out types.

Clouds being literally blown into us from
the hills opposite as seen from the photo. With Clouds came rain. Seeing
the clouds hit us, the rain develop and pour was quite something. All this less than 70kms from

Another picture of the clouds hitting the hill top. You can see the rock on which the temple is built being touched by the clouds.

This is our man Mr. Nikhil Bhaskaran engrossed in life sciences. The pic may look misleading, but trust me he was only looking at some plant and taking photograph! Photography courtesy and Camera Kailas ! Later on we both agreed this is abuse of digi cams. :D

Other trek / trip snaps
https://kailas-shastry.tripod.com/pics/Shivgange_Nandi.jpg
This is from an earlier trek I had done. The famous Nandi (cow) near the Shivgange peak. Circling the Nandi thrice as per belief can be quite a scare! Shivgange is a hill for the religious minded (temples filled with Legends) and also for the adventurous (many paths leading to the peak, steep steps in places test your stamina)
https://kailas-shastry.tripod.com/pics/maeke_datu.jpg
From another trek I’d done with my friends. The famous Maeke datu, a spot around one of River Cavery’s tributaries, is a feast for the eyes with the superb road leading to it, the Sangama where the river is shallow enough for you to cross and the 3km odd trek to reach Maeke Dattu surrounded by hills on either side. Feels like a sage following a river!
Only some of the pics, will put rest up as and when possible. Tata!
